Sukin Skincare

Sukin Skincare

Hey! It’s me. Your everyday skincare junkie/hoarder. I was recently sent some lovely products from Sukin Organics skincare and thought I’d share my impartial thoughts on all three.

Sukin is a brand established in Australia in 2007 with the mission of providing highly efficient, environmentally sustainable and affordable natural skincare. All their products are cruelty free and naturally derived. They also boast to be 100% vegan and free from EDTA, anything synthetic, harsh detergents, artificial colours, parabens or mineral oils which can be damaging to the skin. Everything about this brand is friendly from the outset – ‘skincare that doesn’t cost the earth’.

Let’s start with the Calming Night Cream*. First impressions are great. The packaging is good – a simple but sturdy jar typical of most night creams. A huge upside to this product is that the 120ml jar goes a long way – it’s bigger than most night creams I own. The formula is great. It’s thick but sinks into your skin quickly giving a ton of moisture to the skin. It’s one of those products you can feel actually doing something. It’s also packed with a ton of great oils including rose hip, jojoba, avocado and evening primrose which all help to moisturise. Vitamin E oil is another notable ingredient and one of my personal secret weapons for clear, glowy skin. I definitely wake up with smooth and fresh skin when I apply this before bed. The smell is really intriguing. It’s quite sweet – you can definitely smell the vanilla, cocoa and chamonmile scents but there’s also something distinctively floral about it. Whilst I don’t mind the scent at all – make sure you’re a fan of sweet scents before you try this.

The Hydrating Mist Toner* is both alcohol and paraben free. Again a nice 50ml bottle is a great size for the price and essentially, the spray gives an even but substantial amount of product each time. The ingredients are minimal and water makes up a huge part of it which is a great start. A combination of rosewater and chamomile – it soothes and refreshes the skin. This is something I’ve been using midday to keep my skin feeling hydrated and to give me that extra boost. It tones and cools tired skin – perfect for hot days, flights or when you need a pick me up. I’ll be taking this one with me on holiday in my carry-on to stop the inevitable flight breakouts from the dry air.

Sukin Facial Moisturiser* is great for sensitive skin. Again, it’s natural and free from all sorts of nasties. It has much of the same ingredients and formula of the night cream which helps balances the skin but is definitely thinner in consistency. The scent is the same with the first product. This is light and gentle but perfect under makeup or to keep the skin feeling soft and fresh. Again, I’m a huge fan of how quickly the product absorbs into the skin. Just a good, no frills moisturiser. A thumbs up from me.

Overall, I’m impressed by this affordable range of products from Sukin. I’d definitely recommend them if you’re looking for something natural but effective to incorporate into your routine.
