I know. It’s a faff to keep up with everyday anyway but skincare on the plane? Really? Hell to the yes. I’m one of those now. Shrug. I care so much about my skin that the fear of breaking out due to the dehydrating plane air is real. Plus, flying makes you feel so groggy, it’s nice to take care of that. So after reading a ton of other blogger’s in-flight skincare posts – here’s the hand luggage safe products I’m taking in my hand luggage on my flight to Majorca. All products are within the 100ml limit too!
Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner*
I recently reviewed this (here) and I’m really enjoying using it. It’s refreshing and cooling but light and easy. Definitely good to freshen the skin and make you feel more awake.
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream
I can’t begin to explain how much I adore this product and probably always will. It is a staple that I generally take with me everywhere I go. It doesn’t smell great (I’ve often been told it smells like pencils) but it’s insanely versatile and works like a dream. Scars, acne, cuticles, dry skin. It works nicely to cover spots before makeup and helps heal skin beautifully. I’ll be slathering this on my spots and my lips mid-flight. (P.S. It’s usually on offer in the duty free magazine too when you fly, so don’t hesitate to grab it at a bargain price).
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturiser
The ultimate moisturiser. Lightweight but super hydrating. Sinks into skin wonderfully – replenishing you and giving you that natural glow. Pores look minimised and everything looks brighter. The only moisturiser I’d consider taking with me.
Glossier Balm Dot Com Original/Coconut
Another super versatile but essential product that can be used almost everywhere. I love glossier and their balm dot com is brilliant. The coconut one tastes great and is super hydrating. I wouldn’t leave the country without it.
Benefit Dream Screen
It’s the facial suncream I always go back to. As a frequent user of face serums and acids that leave your skin more susceptible to skin damage – SPF is a must. It’s oil free and has an SPF of 45. It’s quite runny but dries matte and makeup sits great on top of it. Just an obvious choice for me.
Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask
This mask is not pictured but if I was taking a longer flight and needed that extra assurance of perfect skin when the plan landed – I’d have this in my carry on. It’s packed with a ton of product for moisture, is hassle free and feels really great on the skin. It definitely tackles dullness and dryness. I’ll be applying this the night before my flight instead.
I have always followed the queen of skincare Caroline Hiron’s rule for face wipes – they are solely for ‘fannies, flights and festivals’. I rarely use them because they drag your skin prompting wrinkles and are drying on my skin. There are a few brands I trust though. The pack I’ll probably use will be one of the handy small packets from the Yes To brand.
