Yo! Here we go gals. Strap yourself in for the most boring description of the makeup routine I go through when I’m off to uni and I don’t have time to do anything exciting. Also – have some unflattering close ups of my face. Don’t say I never treat y’all.
So I start with the babe that is the Glossier Priming Moisturiser and basically chuck it and rub it in everywhere until my face looks better. It’s a great product because it genuinely makes your skin instantly brighter and more even. Then I spritz my face with the Superdrug Vitamin E Face Mist which I’ve been really loving for extra hydration. Then I go in with Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer which is my favourite drugstore primer. It goes on easily, smoothes out my skin and holds everything on nicely. Foundation wise I’ve been loving The Ordinary Coverage in 2.0N, mixed with the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser in Alaska. The Nars one is a beautiful sheer coverage which makes your skin look like skin but if I need extra coverage I’ll reach for the other one too. It’s a winning combination. Now that I’ve finally got my hands on them, I’m loving the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define concealers in C1 and C4 – using the lighter shade under my eyes and around my nose and the darker one to cover spots and redness. I’m a huge fan of the big applicator and the coverage is so impressive for the price. I set the centre of my face and my under eyes with the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless translucent powder which is another recent find that has won me over. It sits really nicely on the skin and looks really smooth.
Moving onto the cheeks. Bronzer wise I’m using an oldie but a goodie that everyone used to have back in the day, the Bourjois Delice De Poudre. It’s easy to build up, is a really nice colour which doesn’t pull too orange and sits beautifully on the skin. Plus, it smells like chocolate. Then I pop the Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush in Pink Rose on my cheeks and pretty much coat my face in the Moonstone Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector. It’s the most beautiful highlighter I’ve ever owned. Then I set my face with any setting spray I’m currently using.
The brows are easy – I barely bother anymore. I’m happy to use the wonderful Glossier Boy Brow on it’s own but if I want to make more effort I’ll use a tiny bit of the Elf Brow Kit which makes shaping them so easy. Next up is the eyes. I love my bronzer and blusher combo as eyeshadow, which ties the whole look together but is no effort at all. Then I usually rely on my LVL lashes but I haven’t had them done recently so I’ve been putting a tiny bit of mascara on. My lashes seem to hate mascara and I find it impossible to build up product on them. My go-to for both top and bottom lashes is the Maybelline Falsies Push-Up Angel. It’s weird because I hate the original Maybelline Falsies but I love this one. P.S. if you don’t have a blob on your lid – did you even get ready in a hurry?
To finish the look I coat my lips in Benefit BeneTint which is a gorgeous colour and makes my lips look full but natural. Then I’ve been using the Glossier Lip Gloss on top to finish everything off. It looks so pretty and lasts the longest of any lipgloss I’ve ever used.
Hope you enjoyed this simple if a little mundane routine. I’m honestly in love with the fact I’m comfortable enough to wear a look that is just natural and glowy and pretty but it’s not that exciting. Bring me the glitter and cut creases and insane blending any day…
